July 4th Parade

The Concert Band will be a marching band on July 4th. The band members should meet in Oriole Park by diamond #7 at 9:00 a.m. Don't forget your t-shirts! If you have red pants that would be nice.

We did this last year and it worked very well. This year we will be playing the song Yankee Doodle.

Concert Band News

I will be using this blog to keep Concert Band families up to date on the comings and goings of the band. If you are a band parent reading this, your musician must have given you a pencil.

We had a good ensemble Friday with the kids who made it. I even passed my conductor baton to Kevin Willems at one point as I sat in the trumpet section!

In February we will have two Fridays off, the 11th and the 25th. There will be no ensemble on those days. Therefore February will only cost $45. As always, Mrs. Schwieger will send home a statement along with a receipt from January.

Rhythm Bingo

Today in Mrs. McKeon's sixth grade, we played a game called Rhythm Bingo. The kids play bingo on a card that has rhythms written out. The winners were Collin Sisk and Anthony Bavone. Collin is the crabby looking one, and Anthony actually looks like he won something! What they won is pencils with this blog site address written on it. They may be worth millions some day.

Quinn Barney managed to get in the shot too.

Ian rocks

Third grader Ian McMahon from Miss Milnamow's class put on a show for his class at the end of music . Check out this video.

Acid Music

The students in grades 6-8 have been making their own songs using Acid Music in music class. We recently got more laptops, increasing our number to 30. That means there is no taking turns, everyone gets to work on their songs when they come to music.
In Mr. Vicari's computer class they are making CD covers to go with their class CDs they will make with their compositions.

One of our eighth graders, Karolina Strojny created a song on Acid Music, put a slide show to it, and posted her creation on You Tube. You can get see it by clicking the following link:

Nice job, Karolina!
